About the Artist
The Journey Into Art
Anastasia Ilina is a contemporary artist and the creator of the art brand AILIN. Originally from Ukraine, she currently lives and works in Canada. Her artistic journey has been shaped by the experience of war, immigration, and personal transformation, which have become an essential part of her artistic language.
In her work, she explores the inner world of the human being and themes of strength, resilience, and manifestation through imagery connected to nature. Her artistic practice reflects on primal energy, instinct, and the quiet relationship between humans and the natural world. This path of exploration continues to evolve, opening new forms, symbols, and ways of expressing inner experience.
Through the brand AILIN, she creates a space where art connects personal experience with universal human emotions, inviting viewers into a deeper dialogue with themselves and the natural world.

Inspiration

My inspiration comes from the natural world and the inner landscapes of human experience. I am drawn to the quiet dialogue between instinct and emotion, where nature becomes a mirror for inner states.
Through observing the rhythms, strength, and vulnerability present in the natural world, I continue to explore new images and forms that express resilience, presence, and the deeper connection between humans and nature.

Artistic Process
Why Horses?
Wild horses became a central image in my work while I was searching for a way to express my feelings about our modern world. I was drawn to something untamed that could reconnect us with the raw energy of nature. In the wild, horses reveal a full spectrum of emotions: strength, vulnerability, freedom, and resilience. Observing them made me realize how complex and deeply expressive they truly are.
Through this imagery, I explore both the emotional world of horses and my own inner experiences. In many ways, wild horses have become a reflection of my personal journey and our fading connection with the natural world.

For me, painting is not only about creating images but about capturing feelings that cannot always be expressed in words. It has become a form of therapy for my soul and a way to express my inner world.
